Premier League Title Winner Odds*

TeamOddsBet With
Manchester City 2/5 BetMGM
Arsenal 2/1 QuinnBet
Liverpool 40/1 Betfred
Aston Villa 4500/1 Bet UK
Tottenham 4500/1 bet365

*Odds last updated on April 26, 2024.

Manchester City have won the Premier League title in five of the past six seasons, and they're odds-on favourites to get the job done this time around with most football betting sites. Before last weekend they trailed Liverpool and Arsenal by one point in the league with just seven games to go. However, while City defeated Luton, Liverpool lost at home Crystal Palace, while the same fate befell Arsenal against Aston Villa.

Liverpool have stumbled again, losing in the Merseyside derby to Everton on Wednesday. They are now two points adrift of City but have played a game more. The title could feasibly be decided by Tottenham as they still have to play all three title contenders before the end of the season. There are still four games to be played for Arsenal and Liverpool, and six for City, and a lot can happen in that time. Aston Villa and Tottenham aren't mathematically out of the running, but they are for all intents and purposes if the odds at UK betting sites are to be believed. Arsenal lead City by one point, but the champions have a game in hand on the Gunners at present.

In five of the previous six campaigns, Manchester City have been crowned champions, with Liverpool managing to break up the run in the 2019-20 season. It was the Reds who were also hot on the heels of City in the 2018-19 and 2021-22 season before narrowly missing out. More recently, Arsenal led the way for a large chunk of the last campaign before losing touch with Pep Guardiola's relentless side.

Man City Odds-On Favourites to Be Champions

In the end, Manchester City were comfortable winners of the 2022/23 title, with the champions able to leapfrog Arsenal in the run-in and finish five points clear of the Gunners. The best Premier League betting sites installed City as strong favourites to retain their crown before a ball was kicked, and their odds hardened after a perfect start of six consecutive wins. However, they have lost against Wolves, Arsenal and Man City.

Chelsea and others have demonstrated that the champions can be defensively vulnerable when playing out a 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge and then a 1-1 at the Etihad recently. Arsenal then managed to secure a clean sheet at the Etihad to become the first team in the Premier League to do so for two seasons.

Star striker Erling Haaland surpassed expectations in his first campaign at the Etihad Stadium, and many benefitted from Premier League prop bets involving the Norwegian, but he has been off the boil since the turn of the year by his lofty standards. Rodri and Phil Foden have been stars and are favourites for the PFA Player of the year award, and it's easy to see why the bookies are taking no risks with their quotes on the champions.

Pre-Season Favourites Do Well in Title Race

In the past 11 seasons, the pre-season favourite has won the Premier League title on seven occasions. Manchester City have obliged as odds-on market leaders in the past three seasons, while they were priced as 15/8 favorites when winning their first championship under Pep Guardiola in 2017-18.

Twelve months later, they were victorious as 8/11 favorites and have been a reliable source of income for those placing a season-long bet. Back in the 2013-14 season, Manuel Pellegrini’s Manchester City claimed the spoils when priced at 23/10, with Chelsea obliging a year later when being sent off at 19/10 to win the title. Arsenal Well in the Title Race

During the first half of last season, the Gunners lit up the Premier League. The Arsenal stats were so impressive that they were actually title favourites at one stage, with Manchester City breaking up for the 2022 World Cup with a home defeat against Brentford, and there were more dropped points shortly after the action resumed.

However, City demonstrated why they are always among the most solid of Premier League picks, and Mikel Arteta was left to lament the fact that his team were unable to stay the pace. On the flip side, earning 84 points to finish second in the table was a fantastic achievement, and the Spaniard will have learnt a lot from the previous campaign.

We're seeing another title challenge from Arsenal this season, with the Gunners having secured 77 points from 34 games played so far to sit top of the pile on goal difference. Declan Rice has improved the team, although they are regarded as unlikely to finish above Manchester City right now. The best new betting sites still think they have a chance if they can keep their form up.

Will Liverpool Beat City to Title Again?

Liverpool began the season with a 1-1 draw at Chelsea, but they now sit third in the league after 32 games played, just two points off City. Dominik Szoboszlai has adjusted to life well in the Premier League, with fellow summer signing Alexis Mac Allister also a key figure for the Reds. There is also strength in depth when it comes to the Liverpool bench, with Wataru Endo, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo all making the squad stronger.

Few expected Liverpool to finish outside the Premier League top four last season, with Jurgen Klopp's side stuttering through the first few months of the campaign, and their away form was particularly suspect. Despite a strong end to the campaign, the Reds missed out on Champions League qualification, but we shouldn't forget that the Merseyside team have been the main title rivals to Manchester City in the past few seasons.

Liverpool registered 92 points in the 2021/22 season, finishing just a point behind the champions. There was also that amazing 2019/20 season, which saw Klopp steer the Reds to the title with a phenomenal 99 points, with the German hoping he can end his final season as Liverpool manager on a high.

Can Anyone Repeat Leicester City’s 5000/1 Success?

Several years later, it’s still hard to believe that Leicester City were able to produce a miracle by winning the 2015-16 Premier League title. The Foxes were regarded as relegation contenders that season, with some bookmakers prepared to offer 5000/1 that Claudio Ranieri’s side were able to finish in top spot.

As the season wore on, it was clear that Leicester could challenge for the Champions League places, although it took a long time for the bookmakers to install them as favorites before they ended up winning the Premier League by over 10 points. Keep an eye on how the Foxes might perform in the Championship by checking out Bookies' Leicester stats section.

How to Bet on the Premier League Winner

Despite Leicester’s amazing success that season, it is generally the teams at the head of the market who end up competing for the big prize. Manchester City are testament to that fact after winning five of the past six Premier League titles, although Arsenal outperformed their title odds last season and rewarded each-way backers who took a chance on the Gunners. Stay ahead of the game by bookmarking our Premier League betting page.

However, this is a betting market that is updated after each game has been played. Therefore, you can not only wager antepost but also bet later in the season, while there are also alternative markets including the Premier League top four and Premier League relegation.
