Tip 1 - 2.20 Brighton - Street Parade

A good run on seasonal reappearance sets Street Parade up nicely for this race today. Second time out this year he finally gets his track, trip and ground. His best performances have come on good to firm and at Brighton, so to get in here 9lb lower than his last winning mark gives him some room to manoeuvre and should see him go close today.

Tip 2 - 3:20 Brighton - Otago

It’s safe to say Brighton is a horses for courses track. That certainly applies to Uncle Dick, who’s won on five of his six visits here, but those were all over a mile, with his only defeat here coming over seven furlongs. It’s worth siding with Otago, who is also a Brighton specialist, but has won three times here over seven furlongs. He was chinned late by Uncle Dick over a mile last time out, and today’s drop in distance looks to be the right move for him to gain some revenge.

Tip 3 - 4:10 Nottingham - Trooper Bisdee

A first race for nine months is sure to give some people pause in backing Trooper Bisdee today, but there are reasons to believe the four-year-old will be fine for the break. On seasonal reappearance last year following seven months off, he won at Yarmouth, which was one of four victories from seven last season. Trainer Sir Mark Prescott just yesterday had a winner in Hannover who was racing for the first time in nine months, and it is the same jockey on board Trooper Bisdee today in Luke Morris. Conditions look like they will suit, so he should go close.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
