Leyton Orient v Carlisle United preview – Blues 5/1 to win in London

Carlisle are in the capital this evening and they’re a big price to beat Leyton Orient

After a 1-0 defeat at home to Newport, Carlisle head south tonight to face a Leyton Orient side who sit second in League Two.

Keith Curle saw his team suffer a hangover from last week’s impressive performance at Anfield, with the weekend defeat pushing them down to 12th in the table, although it should be noted that the Cumbrians have only lost once on the road this term.

Carlisle are a 5/1 shot with bet365 to win at Brisbane Road, with the visitors having won 3-2 at Hartlepool before drawing 2-2 at York in their last two League Two away games.

Orient are the 4/6 favourites, with the O’s looking to bounce back from relegation from League One last season having previously gone close to getting promoted to the Championship.

Orient have won three of their four matches on their own patch, scoring eight goals and conceding just once, although Carlisle will have little fear after holding Liverpool over ninety minutes.

Curle will hope that his players are now feeling fresh and rejuvenated, with Derek Asamoah likely to start in place of the injured Jabo Ibehre and the forward is 10/1 with bet365 to open the scoring.

Jay Simpson appears to be the danger man for Orient and Carlisle will probably settle for a point from this encounter, with BetVictor going 16/5 that the Blues return home with a draw which sets them up nicely for Saturday’s trip to Stevenage.
