It is an open field for the WTA tour's top stars after defending champion Serena Williams' withdrawal from the indoor hard court event in Singapore.
As the prestigious WTA Finals nears, Bookies.com pick out three stars to back for the title in the absence of defending champion Serena Williams, who pulled out due to injury.
Just eight of the world’s top women tennis players take part in this indoor hard court event in Singapore, and as all of them have tasted title success this year it really will be a scrap for the trophy.
Here are our top three picks…
Romanian world number two Halep is the new tournament favourite despite still being without a Grand Slam or major title, but surely it is a matter of time until she does.
Halep did win the Indian Wells Masters earlier in the year and was runner-up here in 2014, losing to Williams, so could certainly go all the way this time.
She has been placed in the Red Group, along with Maria Sharapova, Agnieszka Radwanska and surprise US Open champion Flavia Pennetta, so is expected to easily finish in the top two.
BETTING TIP: Halep wins WTA Finals outright @ 11/4 with BetVictor.
Czech Republic player Kvitova is the last person besides Williams to win this tournament, back in 2011, and looks back to her best ahead of this year’s edition.
Her White Group of Garbine Muguruza, Angelique Kerber and Lucie Safarova should be no trouble to progress from, and the two-time Wimbledon champion can take heart from her three titles this season, including the Madrid Open.
BETTING TIP: Kvitova wins WTA Finals title @ 11/2 with Paddy Power.
It is hard to leave five-time Grand Slam winner Sharapova out of any title contender list, and her odds are too good not to take a punt on.
The Russian triumphed in this event way back in 2004, is a three-time finalist, and has two trophies to her name this year to date.
BETTING TIP: Sharapova wins WTA Finals title @ 6/1 with BetVictor.
