Serbia, Germany and Brazil all odds-on to win their World Cup group games on Sunday
The World Cup matches continue to come thick and fast, with two Group E games and a Group F match taking place on Sunday.
We kick off with a Group E clash between Serbia and Costa Rica, with the former looking like a strong outfit and we’re expecting them to claim victory on Sunday afternoon.
Aleksandar Mitrovic will spearhead the attack, with Dusan Tadic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Nemanja Matic playing in advanced positions for the Serbians.
They also look rugged in defence, with Costa Rica unlikely to make as big an impact as they did four years ago when beating Italy and Uruguay. Los Ticos looked lame at Elland Road recently and it could be a similar story here.
If you’re feeling bullish about this early selection, you can put them in a multiple with Germany and Brazil. We’re certainly not expecting the two tournament favourites to slip up in their opener.
Germany clash with a Mexico team who stormed the CONCACAF section although they didn’t have a huge amount to beat judging by the teams that Costa Rica and Panama are bringing.
Therefore, we should expect a strong team from the world champions to enjoy a comfortable win, while the same should apply to Brazil who are clashing with Switzerland in their tournament opener.
The Swiss came through the World Cup play-offs by beating Northern Ireland although this really looks like a stiff test against a Selecao team who boast the attacking menace of Neymar.
Philippe Coutinho and Gabriel Jesus are also formidable for the Brazilians, with a robust midfield and defence meaning that they can shut out their opponents and get off to a winning start.
All odds were correct at time of posting.
