Sturridge odds-on to be in England squad for Euro 2016 as the forward returns to the Liverpool FC squad
Daniel Sturridge has had a frustrating time of things at Anfield since playing a major role in Liverpool’s near-miss of a 2013/14 campaign.
The forward made just twelve Premier League starts last term through a mixture of injuries and it’s been a similar story this season, with Sturridge making just five appearances in a red shirt.
However, it appears that a forward whose legs regularly appear to be made of Weetabix is nearing a return at Anfield, with Sturridge in the squad for Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Sunderland and potentially set to play a part on Tuesday night at Upton Park.
Bet365 go 8/13 about Studge making the England plane for Euro 2016 and a run of games along with a few goals will surely see him get the chance to feature at this summer’s tournament alongside Jamie Vardy, Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane.
Sturridge is reportedly a target for Arsenal this summer, although quite whether Arsene Wenger is prepared to take a punt on such an injury-prone forward is another matter.
Wenger has already had to contend with Danny Welbeck’s year-long absence and Jack Wilshere has been perma-crocked since coming through the ranks to feature for Arsenal.
However, Wilshere is an even money chance with bet365 to be on the plane, while the leading bookmaker have Theo Walcott practically nailed-on at 1/4 to be part of Roy Hodgson’s proceedings.
Aside from Theo, there are no certainties when it comes to Arsenal players making the squad. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is an even money poke like team-mate Wilshere, while Danny Welbeck is also an even money chance to make the plane.
The big market mover to be in the England squad is Danny Drinkwater, with the midfielder having played a key role in Leicester’s amazing season and he’s been trimmed to 3/1 to be part of proceedings.
All odds were correct at time of posting.
