Ramsey back in the squad to face the Toffees after recovering from a thigh injury
Aaron Ramsey had an excellent first half to the season which saw the Welshman score fifteen goals, although his last appearance was on Boxing Day and the Gunners have badly missed a player who has produced a series of outstanding performances in the autumn and winter.
Ramsey finally makes his return to the Arsenal team this weekend, with Arsene Wenger confirming that the 23-year-old joins Nacho Monreal in the squad for a tricky trip to Goodison Park, with the player having finally recovered from a thigh injury which has kept him sidelined for over three months.
“Aaron [Ramsey] and Nacho Monreal are back in the squad, so that is good news. Hopefully they will be available for Sunday. [Abou] Diaby is back on the pitches, so that is good news,” Wenger told the club’s official website.
It had previously been thought that Ramsey would return for the FA Cup match against Wigan, although the midfielder is now available for a crunch clash against the Toffees which could go a long way in determining which side claims a Champions League spot next term.
However, Mesut Ozil is on the sidelines until at least 19th April, with the record signing back in his native Germany, while Laurent Koscielny is also missing for a similar period of time.
“The FA Cup will be too soon for Özil but he will hopefully be back soon after that,” Wenger said. “The earliest Koscielny will be back [in training] is next week; the latest is the week after. Diaby is back on the pitches so that is good news.”
