Zarate great value to score as West Ham play Astra Giurgiu in Europa League
West Ham go into their Europa League play-off second leg against Astra Giurgiu knowing that a 1-0 win will be enough to advance after a 2-2 at Upton Park in their home tie.
Although Enner Valencia has been ruled out injured, the Hammers still have awesome Argentine Mauro Zarate, who scored and looked generally lively against the Romanian outfit.
The 28-year-old is fantastic value at 11/5 with Paddy Power to score anytime and after his goal last time out, admits he is thrilled to have got on the scoresheet, even if he was disappointed by the result.
“It was bad in the dressing room after the game because we scored two goals and in the second half we had to play a little bit more, but that is football,” Zarate explained to the media after the first leg of the third round qualifier. “It was great for me to score a goal but I am also very sad as this is not a good result for us.
“We will have another tough game in Romania next week. They will attack and we have to win. It will be a good match for everyone.”
To break the deadlock for the visitors, Zarate is 13/2 with BoyleSports and he will be hoping that he can contiune his form and become a major part of the club’s campaign this season.
Having been left in the wilderness by former manager Sam Allardyce, who didn’t deem him good enough, new manager Slaven Bilic likes what he sees and the player hasn’t let him down.
His movement and positioning against Astra Giurgiu in the first leg was more impressive than anything and if the player can keep getting into good positions, there is no reason why he cannot boost his goal tally further. To score two or more in Romania, he is 9/1 with Coral.
