Antoine Griezmann is good value to score for Atletico Madrid against former club Real Sociedad
He is swiftly becoming one of the hottest properties in Europe, and his performances for both of the clubs featured in this preview have left people wondering, just how good he can become.
Interestingly, though, Antoine Griezmann has never scored in this fixture, despite his prolific goal haul in La Liga.
Having made the switch from the Basque country side to Spain’s capital in the summer to join reigning title holders Atletico Madrid, he has beaten his own record goal-haul for one season, netting 18 in all competitions and 15 in the league.
He struck the opener last time out, as Diego Simeone’s side disposed of Cordoba 2-0 away from home. Therefore, the 24-year-old is a best-priced 4/1 with PaddyPower to repeat that feat, and come back to haunt his former employers.
Prior to his last goal, he bagged a brace in the 3-0 victory over Almeria, and consequently is 5/1 with BetVictor to do the same against David Moyes’ men.
However, in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, it was the Basque country outfit who ran out 2-1 winners in Sociedad, with Carlos Vela and Imanol Agirretxe cancelling out a Mario Mandzukic opener.
The former has been a key component of Moyes’ side since the former Manchester United manager took over. He has notched eight in 24 appearances across all competitions this term, and, as a result, is 19/4 with 888.com to score anytime.
Mandzukic, meanwhile, is 18/5 with BetVictor to mirror his accomplishment in the fixture from earlier in the campaign. The best odds on both teams scoring are with 888.com at 17/11 and they both have the requisite firepower to do so.
This was demonstrated to good effect by Real Sociedad in their last home match; a 3-1 victory over Cordoba last time out, when Agirretxe, Alfred Finnbogason and Gonzalo Castro all dispatched. The former two are 27/5 and 11/2 respectively with 888.com to find the goal anytime, while the latter is 6/1 with Coral in the same market.
