Bet365 offered 5,000/1 about Leicester at the start of the season and now face a bumper payout
Leicester City are nearly there. A 4-0 win over Swansea City on Sunday means that the Foxes are within touching distance of the Premier League title and bet365 have trimmed the Midlands side to 1/6.
It would take a massive splutter for Leicester not to land the title now, even if they go to Old Trafford for their next clash without the services of Jamie Vardy, with the striker’s absence making little difference against a Swans side who were never at the races.
Bet365 admit they are now facing a £3 million payout on Leicester City should Claudio Ranieri’s side keep themselves ahead of Tottenham, with Steve Freeth unable to see any other outcome.
He told bookies.com: “Leicester have taken a giant step towards the biggest shock in sports betting history and Jamie Vardy won’t be the only one having a party if they do it.
“We laid plenty of bets on Leicester at the beginning of the season, with fans keen to put the odd fiver on their team and there are plenty of supporters who have resisted cashing out.”
Bet365 are now offering Leicester’s winning margin for the title and you can get 5/1 about them landing the Premier League by three points.
A one-point victory is 9/2, with two points on offer at 9/2 and a victory by six points or more is a 7/2 shout.
