The coveted Capital One Cup will recommence next week at the enthralling round of 16 stage, with many of the Premier League big guns still battling for glory, while four Championship sides hope to cause a major shock this season.

Manuel Pellegrini’s top-flight leaders Manchester City still remain the 7/2 outright favourites with 888Sport for League Cup success, as they prepare to tackle the threat of top tier rivals Crystal Palace, who are flying high this term.

The Sky Blues have already overcome Alan Pardew’s Eagles 1-0 this season domestically at Selhurst Park and will want to add this cup to their growing list of silverware in recent campaigns, making City a tasty 6/5 with BetVictor for another win to nil.

Capital One Cup holders Chelsea have endured a tough start to the defence of their league title but will want to enjoy less stress in retaining their crown, starting with a Stoke City clash. Jose Mourinho’s Blues recovered from their recent blip and are a best-priced 12/5 with Coral to win to nil over the Potters, having done so in three of their last four consecutive victories over them.

Everton and Norwich will also come together at Goodison Park and, with the two sides having drawn 2-2 last term in their exciting, inseparable meeting, that same result is 16/1 with Betfred to occur again in this latest encounter.

Meanwhile, Championship club Hull City will look to stun top tier high-flyers Leicester City, Sheffield Wednesday take on an in-form Arsenal and Southampton square-off with a domestically struggling Aston Villa.

Jurgen Klopp is still searching for his first victory since taking charge of Liverpool, drawing in both his maiden Premier League and Europa League match-ups but, having already toppled Bournemouth 1-0 this term, the Reds are 15/2 with 888Sport to win by the same margin this time out.

Louis van Gaal is chasing silverware in his second season at Old Trafford and the Capital One Cup could be the competition to do it. His Red Devils side are 11/4 with Ladbrokes to win by exactly two clear goals against Middlesbrough, having done so in two of their previous three home clashes with their Northeast opposition.
