The Capital One Cup last sixteen stage takes place this week, with struggling Chelsea heading to the Britannia Stadium
We’re down to sixteen teams in the Capital One Cup and we have two all-Premier League clashes on Tuesday including Stoke v Chelsea.
Mark Hughes will hope to get one over his former club, with Chelsea wobbling badly this season and they can already wave goodbye to their team’s chances of winning the title this term.
A Champions League victory is unlikely, so Jose Mourinho could well focus hard on winning this competition, although how much longer the Portuguese remains at the club remains open to question.
Stoke will hope to recover from a 2-0 reverse against Watford on Saturday, while Everton and Norwich are also licking their wounds coming into this game.
The pair meet at Goodison Park and the Toffees are warm favourites to reach the quarter-final stage of the League Cup, with the Canaries having lost at home to West Brom on Saturday.
Meanwhile, two Championship sides have a chance of an upset on Tuesday, with Hull City entertaining a Leicester side who might well show a few changes.
The Tigers have already eliminated Swansea City and could have the edge against the Foxes, while Sheffield Wednesday are going well in the Championship and will fancy their chances of getting victory against Arsenal.
The Gunners have traditionally done well in this competition although Arsene Wenger will surely rest several first-team players and concentrate on a Premier League assault along with the possibility of escaping out of their Champions League group despite losing their two opening games.
