Ancelotti rumoured to be in talks with Liverpool FC, although Jurgen Klopp remains favourite to replace Brendan Rodgers
It is clear that the majority of Liverpool supporters are no longer enthused by Brendan Rodgers as manager of their football team.
The Northern Irishman nearly won the title with the Reds two seasons ago although that’s looking increasingly like a freak occurrence, with the Merseyside outfit having made another sluggish start to the season.
Perhaps Rodgers has until the end of the season at Anfield to prove that he can produce a team capable of finishing in the top four, although stories are emerging that club owners FSG are in talks with Carlo Ancelotti at the moment.
Ancelotti is one of the most successful European football managers of all time, having won silverware with AC Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid, although whether the Italian is open to returning to England remains to be seen.
BetVictor have certainly taken a few bets on Carlo and make him a 7/2 chance to become the next Liverpool gaffer, although Paddy Power offer 5/1 that Ancelotti becomes Rodgers’ replacement.
Jurgen Klopp continues to be the market leader at a best price 9/4 with betfair, with a group of supporters apparently making Saturday’s match against Aston Villa a day where they will dress up in the garb of the former Borussia Dortmund coach.
Garry Monk and Frank de Boer are other names who have been linked with the non-vacant position, although it appears as though FSG will want an experienced manager who has good experience of managing teams in the Champions League.
