Bookies.com previews key players for Juventus in the Champions League Final against Barcelona
With the Champions League final fast approaching, tension is already building in Berlin as Barcelona and Juventus bid to complete cup trebles this season, having won everything domestically in their respective leagues.
There is no doubt that Barca’s squad is packed with talent, so Bookies.com take a look at five players who Juve will need to have on top form, if they are to secure victory over the Catalans.
Juventus need to come out of the blocks firing and then keep going which could upset Barca’s rhythm and game-plan considerably. If they can stun them in the first 10 minutes, then their talismanic Argentine is the man to do it. He is 7/1 with SkyBet to score first and he has seven goals to his name already in the competition.
Tevez is also a big-game player, and there is no doubt he will relish the atmosphere and the opportunity to take bragging rights over compatriot at Barca, Lionel Messi.
Barca aren’t impregnable, and those who watched them in the Copa del Rey against Athletic Bilbao will have noticed their centre half’s failure to deal with the aerial presence of Inaki Williams, who got on the end of a cross to head past Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
This is where Llorente can capitalise in particularly and although he has only scored one Champions League goal this term, no doubt coach, Massimiliano Allegri, an astute tactician, will have noticed this defensive weakness in the Copa del Rey, and will be looking to exploit it.
Llorente is the perfect person for this, who has earned a glowing reputation for headed goals throughout his career, and he can be a handful for Barca’s rearguard. He has very decent odds of 9/2 to score anytime with Ladbrokes.
The World Cup winner easily wins the battle of the goalkeepers on paper, though there is no reason why he can’t bring his ‘A-Game’ against Barcelona.
A commanding presence, it makes for an intriguing question. How will he fare against Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez? Juventus are known for their defensive abilities and are 9/2 with Bet365 to keep a clean sheet. It will be interesting to see how Barca’s attackers can find a way past Buffon.
Games like these were created for this midfield dynamo. If he can keep his cool and deliver a first class performance, Juve have half a chance. Pogba will be looking to catch out Ter Stegen with long-range efforts early on and giving Sergio Busquets something to think about with his driving runs and is 6/1 with Coral to score anytime.
Maybe not someone you would expect, however, the left back has won the competition before and his experience will be vital.
Also likely to be up against one of Neymar or Messi, if he can keep them quiet he will merit the man-of-the-match award (80/1 with PaddyPower) just for this, though he will also be looking to roll back the years, marauding down the line and supplying crosses for his forwards.
Bookies.com recommended bet: Fernando Llorente anytime scorer @ 9/2 with Ladbrokes
