Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool all in Champions League action this week as the last sixteen stage begins
There’s a reasonable chance that we might see an English team in the Champions League final this season, with five representatives through to the last sixteen stage and three are competing this week.
Manchester City are heavy favourites to come through a two-legged tie against Basel, with Pep Guardiola’s team in Switzerland this week, while Tottenham have a more daunting task when they head to Italy for a clash against Juventus.
Spurs come into the match off the back of a north London derby win over Arsenal, although Juve are proving to be adept at racking up clean sheets right now and this looks a tall order.
On Wednesday night, an unconvincing Liverpool side head to Portugal for a dicey encounter against FC Porto, with Real Madrid meeting Paris Saint Germain in what looks to be the clash of the Champions League last sixteen.
Jurgen Klopp’s team won at Southampton on Sunday but appear to be missing the midfield creativity of Philippe Coutinho, while Real have been struggling in La Liga and are actually outsiders against PSG despite the fact that they are European champions.
All odds were correct at time of posting.
