Atletico set to be missing Thibaut Courtois for both legs, with the Belgian unlikely to line up against his parent club for a place in the final
Both Chelsea and Atletico Madrid will feel they can reach the Champions League final in Lisbon following Friday’s draw which has kept the pair apart from Bayern Munich, with Real Madrid getting the nightmare draw in Nyon.
The Blues dramatically progressed at the expense of Paris Saint-Germain and will now play the team that are storming away at the top of La Liga, with Diego Simeone having to contend without Thibaut Courtois who is unlikely to line up against his parent club.
That is yet to be confirmed but Atleti won’t want to upset the applecart considering that Courtois could become a permanent signing in the summer, with Diego Costa also struggling to be fit for the two matches.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid will be missing Cristiano Ronaldo for the first match against Bayern Munich, with the German side favourites to retain the trophy they landed at Wembley last term.
