Brazil are 10/3 to win the Copa America and yet their star player who boasts 43 goals in 62 international appearances can be backed at a meaty 13/2 with bet365 to finish top scorer.

If you fancy Dunga’s team to reach the final, then you should be getting with Neymar to plunder the most goals. He’ll play in three group matches against Colombia, Peru and Venezuela before a potential three knockout games in Chile.

Bet365 will pay 1/3 odds for the first two places if you’re having an each-way bet and it’s easy to see him sitting top of the pile, with the Brazil captain boasting an awesome scoring record ever since he pulled on the famous yellow shirt.

Since the Selecao finished fourth in their host World Cup, the Barcelona forward has been plundering goals aplenty. This includes a four-timer against Japan last October, with a brace in Turkey and another goal against the French in March.

What about Lionel Messi?
Neymar backers should be glad that Messi is involved in the Copa America. His presence at the head of the market allows us to back his Barcelona team-mate at odds of 13/2 and we’re happy to go against the best player in the world.

Messi scored four goals at the 2014 World Cup (the same as Neymar) but played two more games than the latter. He’s also be sharing his team’s goals with the likes of Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain. Perhaps a deeper more withdrawn role beckons for the superstar.

Messi is a 10/3 chance although his 45 goals in 97 games played doesn’t compare favourably with Neymar’s international record and it’s worth opposing the other Argentine players on a similar basis.

Luis Suarez, the other member of the Barcelona triumvirate, will be missing with suspension. Alexis Sanchez is a 14/1 poke and will play in an attacking role for host nation Chile although he has only scored 26 goals in 77 appearances for his country.

Radamel Falcao is an 18/1 poke although the Colombian’s stock has fallen in the past two years and perhaps that long-term injury which ruled him out of last summer’s World Cup has reduced his ability. Manchester United fans certainly didn’t see the best of him last season.

The final name worth a mention is James Rodriguez after the midfielder’s heroics in Brazil which saw six goals scored. A further eighteen have been notched for Real Madrid this term but it’s hard to make a case of a repeat considering Falcao and Carlos Bacca will be operating as part of an attacking trident.

We’re sticking with one man on this market. Go for each-way for some insurance and be prepared to have the odds cut in half or three ways if Neymar ties with another player(s).
