Captain Cook back in form, while Yorkshire duo Root and Ballance ease England to victory in Granada
England go into the 3rd and final Test with the West Indies 1-0 up in the series, after a fantastic final day in Granada. Now, with momentum and confidence back with Peter Moores’ men, they will hope to push on and win in Barbados too.
We provide punters four top tips to take…
Barbados homecoming for Chris Jordan
All-rounder Jordan was born on the Caribbean island and even played for them during the 2012/13 season, but chose to represent the nation where he was schooled.
He took three wickets in Granada across both innings, and is slightly under pressure to keep his place with the likes of Yorkshire duo Liam Plunkett and Adil Rashid waiting in the wings. However, due to his knowledge of the area and pitches, he is likely to play and is a decent 4/1 shout with Paddy Power to be best England bowler in the first innings.
Revival of captain Cook
Alastair Cook has gone through much criticism of late, and was out cheaply in the first Test against the Windies, but got two solid knocks of 76 and then 59 not out in Grenada to help England on their way to victory. He is a great shout with Coral at 4/1 to be best batsman for his team.
Future star Joe Root
The Yorkshireman seems to get better and better after his fine 182 hit in the second Test. He is averaging over 57 from his 24 matches to date, a remarkable feat for a 24-year-old, and he is a decent chance at 4/1 with Ladbrokes to hit another hundred in the first innings.
Although England managed a first innings total of 464, leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo gave it his all and eventually took four wickets. He bowled nearly more than double the amount of overs than any other West Indies player, and is a tempting 5/1 price with William Hill to be best with the ball again for his side in the first innings.
Betting tip: Joe Root to score a century in the first innings @ 4/1 with Ladbrokes
