We provide punters with our predicted scorelines for the four upcoming matches in Newcastle
It’s the penultimate round of fixtures in the Premier League Darts, and there is still all to play for, for six of the remaining eight stars in Week 14 in Newcastle.
Michael van Gerwen and Dave Chisnall have already qualified for the play-offs, with Raymond van Barneveld, Gary Anderson, Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis battling it out for the final two semi-final spots.
Dave Chisnall v Stephen Bunting
Chizzy has done remarkably well to stay so consistent and already book himself a place for the O2 finals day, and effectively plays a dead rubber against Bunting, who can’t catch up after his draw with James Wade last week.
PREDICTION: Chisnall 6-6 Bunting – 7/2 with Coral
Adrian Lewis v Michael van Gerwen
Jackpot knows anything but a win against league leader and world number one Van Gerwen will mean he can no longer qualify for the play-offs.
Lewis will give it his all and can take heart from his draw against Mighty Mike in Week 4, but doesn’t have a great record against him, so should lose here.
PREDICTION: Lewis 4-7 Van Gerwen – 7/1 with Paddy Power
James Wade v Raymond van Barneveld
Defending champion Barney has only really gained points against the best players this tournament, so may lose concentration against eighth-placed Wade.
However, the Dutchman is in by far the best form in the league at present, having won his last five, and nothing can stop the Man when he’s on a rampage, as Anderson found out last week in a heated encounter.
PREDICTION: Wade 3-7 Van Barneveld – 15/2 with Paddy Power
Phil Taylor v Gary Anderson
Six-time champion Taylor looks as though he’ll miss out on a play-off place for the first time since the Premier League began in 2005, as he is three points behind The Flying Scotsman.
A win is a must for The Power. He will just hope that Anderson is still rattled after losing against Barney last week, after being 4-0 up, and the following war of words when he accused Van Barneveld of stomping as he walked past him to put him off.
PREDICTION: Taylor 7-5 Anderson – 9/1 with Ladbrokes
