England expected to beat Colombia in the last sixteen by the bookmakers
Gareth Southgate won’t be particularly bothered about his team’s defeat against Belgium, with England’s reserve team losing to their Red Devils counterparts by a single goal.
England will now prepare for Tuesday’s last sixteen clash and the bookies have the Three Lions as 1/2 favourites to qualify for the quarter finals.
They are 11/10 with bet365 to claim a normal time victory and not put their supporters through the wringer, with the same bookie offering 10/3 that England make the 2018 World Cup final.
It could be that England have a tougher last sixteen match against Colombia than they do against either Sweden or Switzerland, although Spain or Croatia could lie in wait should Southgate’s men make the semi-finals.
England are 13/10 with Paddy Power to make the last four and they are favourites to claim victory in this quarter, while the same bookmaker are an 8/1 poke with the Irish firm to lift the World Cup.
Brazil are the 7/2 favourites to win the tournament, with Spain trading at 4/1 to repeat their heroics of 2010 and then come Belgium at 13/2 although the Red Devils are facing a potential quarter final against the Samba Stars.
