England now single figure odds to win 2018 World Cup

England hammered in the betting again and the Three Lions are 9/1 to lift the World Cup in Russia

Gareth Southgate’s popularity continues to soar in England and supporters are starting to feel as though the Three Lions have got a real chance of winning the World Cup.

OK so they have only beaten Tunisia and Panama, although the manner of the 6-1 victory over the latter means that bet365 have cut England to 9/1 to win the 2018 World Cup.

Having started at odds of 16/1, there’s a very real chance that the Three Lions can go deep in the tournament, with a potential last sixteen clash against Japan holding little fear for the team.

However, there are still several teams ahead of England in the betting, with Spain and Brazil the joint-favourites at odds of 9/2, with La Roja looking in good nick and the Samba Stars are also on course to do well although they might meet Germany at the last sixteen stage.

Germany are a 6/1 poke and they boosted their chances of reaching the last sixteen when beating Sweden on Saturday night although one of them or Brazil could bow out in the last sixteen.

Belgium are an 8/1 poke, with France having shortened slightly to 7/1, with England then 9/1 and Croatia catch the eye at 14/1.

At a bigger price, Colombia are a 33/1 poke and Los Cafeteros were outstanding when beating Poland 3-0 and the South American side will fancy their chances of going fairly deep in the tournament, especially if they can defeat Senegal in their next game.

All odds were correct at time of posting.
