FA Cup 2017-18 third round fixtures, preview and tips

The FA Cup third round weekend is always exciting, with derbies galore including Liverpool v Everton and Brighton v Palace

It was a fantastic draw for the 2017-18 FA Cup third round, with Liverpool and Everton pitted against each other and the match has been moved to a Friday evening and will be televised.

Similarly, the prospect of Leicester travelling to Fleetwood means that this game is the Saturday lunchtime encounter, with a host of Saturday afternoon games taking place.

Coventry will fancy their chances of springing an upset against Stoke, while Luton Town travel to Newcastle sniffing a giantkilling.

On Saturday teatime, Chelsea travel to Carrow Road for an engagement with Championship side Norwich City who will be hoping that Antonio Conte rests one or two players for the competition.

On Sunday, we have the prospect of Shrewsbury facing West Ham and the League One side are going along very nicely, while Nottingham Forest are without a manager when they line up against Arsenal.

Finally, Monday night’s game between Brighton and Crystal Palace is a somewhat quirky derby, with the Seagulls and Eagles clashing at the AMEX Stadium.

The latest FA Cup odds illustrate that Manchester City are favourites to win the competition, with a home tie against Burnley likely to see them progress to the fourth round.
