FA Cup quarter-final fixtures, previews and tips – 17/18 March

We’re betting against the favourites in the FA Cup this weekend, with Tottenham and Chelsea looking particularly easy to oppose.

Both teams have suffered setbacks in recent days, with Swansea, Leicester and Wigan capable of making the semi-final stage of the competition.

SATURDAY 17TH MARCH
Swansea City 12:15 Tottenham Hotspur

The Swans are in good nick under Carlos Carvalhal and we’re expecting them to be difficult to beat against a Spurs side who are without Harry Kane.

While Son Heung-Min is performing excellently in an attacking position, they clearly lose a focal point when Kane is absent, while Swansea have been rock solid at the Liberty.

PREDICTION: Swansea 1 Tottenham 0
BEST BET: Swansea +1.5 @ 4/6 with BetVictor

Manchester United 19:45 Brighton & Hove Albion
It’s been open season on Jose Mourinho since United lost to Sevilla on Tuesday night and the FA Cup is the only chance for the Red Devils to win silverware this season.

It should be a straightforward job against a Brighton side who struggle for goals on the road and it might be that Chris Hughton gives some of his first-teamers the evening off.

PREDICTION: Manchester United 2 Brighton 0
BEST BET: Man United win to nil @ 2.00 with Ladbrokes

SUNDAY 18TH MARCH
Wigan Athletic 13:30 Southampton

Mark Hughes has just taken over at Southampton although this is a trappy maiden encounter for the Welshman as the Saints clash with a Wigan side who have previously scalped Manchester City.

Paul Cook will have his sights set on Wembley and Wednesday’s last-gasp winner at Bradford means the Latics can breathe a little easier as far as their automatic promotion claims are concerned.

PREDICTION: Wigan 2 Southampton 1
BEST BET: Wigan to win @ 13/5 with Ladbrokes

Leicester City 16:30 Chelsea
Leicester could be playing this match at the right time, with Chelsea returning home from Spain late on Wednesday night after being beaten 3-0.

The Foxes are fairly solid under Claude Puel and let’s not forget that the Frenchman led Southampton to the League Cup final last season, with Jamie Vardy in a rich vein of form.

PREDICTION: Leicester 2 Chelsea 1
BEST BET: Leicester to win @ 5/2 with William Hill
