Five scorers for Southampton & West Ham in Europa League qualifiers

Graziano Pelle preview five Southampton and West Ham scorers for the Europa League qualifiers

English clubs Southampton and West Ham are both in action as they bid to progress past the Europa League qualifying stages.

As a result, look at five potential scorer threats for both teams with Southampton set to play Dutch side Vitesse and West Ham United hosting Astra Giurgiu.

Graziano Pelle
The Italian striker scored three times against Vitesse while with Feyenoord and will be hoping to keep that run going here. He is 4/1 with Coral to score first and the 30-year-old made a huge impact last season in the Premier League, so Saints will be hoping he can transfer this to the Europa League.

Pelle is looking forward to a good season: “We play in the Europa League and we would like to go far so we have to beat Vitesse.

“We know we just have to do our best, even if it is special for us. We know it’s a pre-season game and we have to work hard to try and reach the best level we can.”

Jay Rodriguez
Currently in sensational form, the 26-year-old has started pre-season with a bang and is looking like he has fully recovered from injury, scoring five goals already. His link-up play with Pelle has been impressive and full of energy he anticipates. Rodriguez is 4/1 with Ladbrokes to break the deadlock.

Having already opened his Southampton account, the Spanish forward could be a useful addition to the Saints ranks, especially in Europe this season. Often, continental players take to European competitions as they are used to the type of football their opponents play. Juanmi is 6/4 with bet365 to net anytime.

Enner Valencia
West Ham’s Ecuadorian forward was a revelation last campaign and will be hoping he can continue in that vein next term. He is 7/2 with SkyBet to carry on his fine pre-season form and break the deadlock.

Dimitri Payet
With plenty of European experience, Payet could be crucial to the Hammers in the Europa League this term and has odds of 13/8 with SkyBet to net anytime. Capable of getting into scoring positions, Payet can certainly convert if given the chance.

All odds were correct at time of posting.
