Real Madrid travel to bitter city rivals Atletico for a quarter-final clash, but have not beaten them in six meetings this season
Atletico Madrid (19/10 for victory in 90 minutes with BoyleSports) and bitter city rivals Real (17/10 with William Hill) clash in a Champions League quarter-final first leg, in what will be the two teams’ seventh meeting in all competitions this season.
Remarkably, Diego Simeone’s side are undefeated in all the previous six, winning all three to nil at home (15/4 to do so again with BoyleSports), so we have come up with five Atleti stars that can cause the title holders trouble once more.
All five picks have netted against real this term already…
French forward Griezmann has been so prolific this season, having scored 21 times in all competitions to date. He was on target against Los Blancos in his side’s famous 4-0 thumping in La Liga last time, and is a tempting 5/2 chance with Bwin to net again anytime.
The Croatian may not have had as much game time as he would have liked this season, but Mandzukic has still managed 20 strikes in all competitions, with five of those being in the Champions League. He netted twice against Real this term, both of which were the last goal, so he is 6/1 with PaddyPower to round off the scoring once more.
Young Spaniard Saul is a rising star for Atleti, and has featured in key games for them this term. He scored and set up another in that 4-0 win against Real, and is 23/4 with 888Sport to net anytime again.
Atletico loanee Torres has been a hit since his homecoming on loan, and bagged a brace against Carlo Ancelotti’s team in the Cope del Rey to help them win on aggregate. The former Liverpool and Chelsea striker is 3/1 with bwin in the anytime market.
Turkish talent Turan has featured heavily for Atleti this term, and got the winner against Los Blancos at the Bernabeu in the league back in September. You can take odds of 23/4 with 888Sport for Turan to strike at the Vicente Calderon Stadium this time.
