Four forwards for French fight between Marseille and Monaco

Ligue 1 duo Marseille and Monaco duel in crunch clash that could determine final Champions League spot

Marseille began the season in devastating style, as they lead the likes of cash-rich sides PSG and Monaco at the top of the Ligue 1 table for much of the campaign, but in recent weeks have slipped down after a terrible run.

Marcelo Bielsa’s boys have lost four of their last five league games, meaning they can no longer win the title, but have the chance now to at least snatch back a Champions League place from the Principality state side, who they host next.

Monaco are five points ahead of L’OM with three matches to go, so we have picked out two forward threats from both teams that can cause problems for their opposition…

Andre-Pierre Gignac
Gignac has been Marseille’s main man for much of the season, striking 20 times in Ligue 1, especially during the club’s incredible run, and tops the anytime scorer market for this match with many of the bookies.

While his goal form has dried up of late, to coincide with L’OM’s bad form too, he did bag a brace in his last match against Metz, to beat them 2-0, and the France forward is a top-price 15/2 with Paddy Power to net twice or more again.

Andre Ayew
Ayew has been Gignac’s able assistant this term, getting nine goals and five assists in all competitions. The Ghana winger has scored five in his last 10, and is a best bet of 56/19 with in the anytime market.

Dimitar Berbatov
Former Manchester United attacker Berbatov has defied his age this season for Monaco by bagging nine goals in total, with most coming at important times such as in the Champions League last 16 against Arsenal.

The Bulgarian hitman is a tempting and top offer of 7/1 with BetVictor to open the scoring at the Stade Velodrome.

Anthony Martial
At just 19 years of age, Martial has been a revelation for Monaco this season, getting a dozen goals across all competitions, including eight in his last nine Ligue 1 matches.

The teenager clearly has a big future in the game, and Paddy Power offer enticing best odds of 5/2 for the young Frenchman to net anytime here.

Betting tip: Andre-Pierre Gignac scores two or more @ 15/2 with Paddy Power
