Real chance to scupper Sevilla’s European hopes

Rampant Real Madrid are now only two points adrift of La Liga leaders Barcelona and a victory over Sevilla would put further pressure on their El Clasico rivals

Real Madrid have narrowed Barcelona’s lead at the summit of the La Liga table to just two points and know a victory over Sevilla in their latest outing would put further pressure on Luis Enrique’s men.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Galacticos have already overcome the hosts on two occasions this current campaign, but were toppled at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan last season.

Rampant Real are a best priced 18/5 with Coral to secure a win to nil on their travels and hurt their opponents’ Champions League place hopes, having been victorious in their previous Spanish league meeting in February, when they ran out 2-1 winners.

Although, Unai Emery’s Bathtubs should provide a stern challenge to a recently free-scoring Madrid outfit, having impressively gone undefeated at home all season, a record which sensationally stretches back to February last year.

With such a superior home advantage this term, Sevilla are a tasty 11/4 with Coral to hold title hopefuls Madrid to a stalemate and 14/5 with Sky Bet to cause an upset.

Cristiano Ronaldo loves playing Sevilla, and has netted a double or more in this fixture for five consecutive seasons, including a hat-trick in four of the last five campaigns. The Portuguese superstar is a 20/1 chance with William Hill to strike another terrific treble in his latest outing.

In-form Sevilla forward Carlos Bacca has also been on a rampant run in front of goal for the hosts and is a 13/2 shot with Sky Bet to find the net again against Madrid. The clinical Colombia international sharpshooter has an incredible 24 strikes already this term and slotted home a brilliant brace in a 2-1 triumph over Real last season.

Spain international defensive stalwart Sergio Ramos has struck against his former employers Sevilla before since arriving at the Bernabeu and is available at 7/1 with Paddy Power to do so again anytime.

Madrid are aiming to maintain their unwavered run of six straight league wins and will be confident of doing so, having also secured three away triumphs on the bounce.

Betting tip: Madrid to win to nil @ 18/5 with Coral
