Wembley set for fine attacking displays in FA Cup final

Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa are vying to spring a surprise at Wembley while Arsenal will be confident firing their way to further FA Cup glory

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal are aiming to retain their FA Cup crown at Wembley when they tackle Tim Sherwood’s rejuvenated Aston Villa side, who recently rallied to Premier League safety under the former Tottenham boss this season.

The Gunners are the best priced odds-on 4/7 favourites with Betfred to clinch back-to-back cup trophies in the capital, while the Villans are 6/1 with to cause a major upset.

Despite Arsenal having finished in third position this term, and Villa just managing to avoid a daunting drop down divisions, both teams possess plenty of attacking threat capable of earning an FA Cup victory and providing a sporting spectacle.

Although, recent head-to-head form doesn’t favour Sherwood’s underdogs, with the West Midlands outfit having been thrashed 5-0 at the Emirates in February and 3-0 on home soil last September, as both results saw Villa edge closer to relegation danger, before eventually ensuring safety.

In that five-goal haul in London, each strike was put away by a different Gunners attacker, with ferocious Frenchman Olivier Giroud opening proceedings after eight minutes, and prolific playmaker Santi Cazorla slotting home a second-half penalty to secure the rampant result, and Hector Bellerin rounding off the match.

In-form Giroud is a massive threat to Villa, and is 9/2 with bet365 to strike first again at Wembley, while Spaniard Cazorla is a 7/2 chance with Betfred to score anytime in 90 minutes.

Villa’s main scoring contender will undoubtedly be brilliant Belgium international Christian Benteke, but Fabian Delph is known for chipping in with vital goals, and Gabriel Agbonlahor could also pop up with a crucial effort.

Belgian bruiser and Villa topscorer Benteke is a tasty 3/1 with bet365 to score anytime in normal time, having netted in both league fixtures last season, while midfield maestro Delph is 23/2 with for a goal in 90 minutes.

With plenty of astute attack on show, Wembley could easily be set for a goal feast between these two top-flight sides.

Betting tip: Benteke to score in 90 minutes @ 3/1 with bet365
