Bookies.com take you through an early betting preview ahead of the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone
Lewis Hamilton is odds-on with Coral at 4/7 to win the Formula 1 Grand Prix on his home patch at Silverstone; however, after his recent win in Austria, the smart money is on Nico Rosberg, who is a very decent 15/8 with Paddy Power for victory.
Putting sentiment aside of Hamilton winning in his own country, at the minute, he isn’t driving his best and of the two Mercedes drivers it is German Rosberg who has impressed of late, and who won it in 2013.
After the race in Austria, Rosberg said: “I defended well in the first couple of corners against Lewis and then it was great to open up the gap,” the German said.
“Last year, the race craft was where Lewis had an edge on me and I had to improve on that and this year it is coming good,” he continued.
“Especially today it was one of the easier wins, not having pressure from Lewis behind. It was great to see I had the pace advantage over him.”
Compatriot Sebastian Vettel, who finished fourth, put in a solid performance in his Ferrari and is 6/17 with 888.com to take the glory on a track where anything can happen.
Felipe Massa silenced any critics by coming in third last time out, having started from fourth on the grid and showed in his Williams that he has the skill to out-maneuver most of the field. The Brazilian is 4/1 with 888.com for another podium finish and based on his last performance, these reflect decent value and definitely worth a bet.
888.com are also offering a heavy odds-on price of 1/19 on the winning car being Mercedes, while Ferrari are next priced at 6/1 with 888.com and recommended as the car to go for after taking five out of the past 13 victories at Silverstone.
Meanwhile, Valtteri Bottas, came second last year and is well priced at 4/1 with 888.com to secure another podium place.
