4 Indianapolis Colts Prop Bets To Play This NFL Season

The Indianapolis Colts went just 7-9 last year, but suffice it to say the expectations have increased dramatically in 2020.

Philip Rivers has been brought in as a one-year QB rental and the Colts traded their first-round draft pick for an All-Pro defensive tackle as they are in go-for-it mode this coming season.

Bookies.com reveals four NFL futures best bets for the Indianapolis Colts 2020 NFL season.

Colts Win AFC South (+138)

The Colts lost nine games a year ago but five of them were in overtime or by four points or fewer. And that was with the worst-performing starting QB in the league in Jacoby Brissett. Now Rivers is in town. He’s coming off a dreadful 2019 for the Chargers but he went to his eighth Pro Bowl in 2018 and he’ll have a better offensive line, better top WR target and a top-tier run game to work with.

Indy’s defense ranked in the top 10 against the run. The pass defense was not good, though it should be improved with two starters added in free agency.

The Texans won the NFC South at 10-6 but most pundits agree that the offseason was unkind to Houston. The Titans pose the top challenge, coming off an impressive run to the AFC Championship. But it should be close, and we’re getting the Colts at a plus price. Indy’s third-place schedule is favorable compared to the second-place schedule of Tennessee. Bet the division title prop at BetMGM.

Offensive Rookie of the Year — Jonathan Taylor (+1000)

Marlon Mack was beyond serviceable as the lead runner for the Colts last year, gaining 1,091 yards and eight TDs on 4.4 yards per carry. Taylor, however, is a special talent, and he’s walking into a situation with a coach who loves to set up the pass by using the run.

Mack has never played a full 16 games in a season. Taylor, who averaged 6.7 yards per carry at Wisconsin with 21 TDs last season, can and should seize the opportunity at some point to be the No. 1 back. If he does so early enough into the season and Joe Burrow slips in Cincinnati, Taylor should pile up the stats — on a competitive team — to get strong ROY consideration. Bet Taylor at FanDuel.

8.5 Wins — Over (-110)

The Colts won seven games a year ago in addition to five near-defeats. Flipping Brissett with Rivers, adding Buckner to the D-line and shoring up a porous defensive backfield is enough to convince me that 9-7 is in the cards.

Going game-by-game through the 2020 schedule leads me to like 10-6 more than 8-8. Rivers will need to be more clutch than he was a year ago, but he has it in him, and has the tools to help him. Bet the Over at Unibet.

Coach of the Year — Frank Reich (+2000)

4 Indianapolis Colts Prop Bets To Play This NFL Season 1

The Chiefs and Ravens are on a collision course to the AFC Championship. Then again, everyone thought the same thing last year and the Titans emphatically put an end to that.

If there’s an AFC team that could overachieve and break up the party, why not the Colts? The team ranked in the top 10 in rushing offense and rushing defense — critical playoff components — and shored up its top weaknesses. Coaches get credit not just for win but for overachievement. If the Colts go 10-6 and wreck the AFC party, Reich will be on the conversation, and you’ll have him at great odds. Bet Reich at DraftKings .
