5 Colts-Texans Prop Bets & Betting Lines To Back On TNF

First place in the AFC South is on the line when Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans play host to Jacoby Brissett and the Indianapolis Colts for Thursday Night Football.

The Colts beat the Texans earlier this season in Indianapolis and are 6-0-1 against the spread in their last seven games in Houston. Let’s take a look at some of the best bets fans of NFL betting should consider:

PICK 1: Texans -3.5

The Colts have been highly successful against the rest of the AFC South, covering their last six games against divisional foes. They’re also on a 10-1 ATS heater against above-.500 opponents.

But the loss of Marlon Mack is a big one to the NFL’s fourth-ranked run offense. Also, Texans killer TY Hilton may not play or might be limited. Missing those key pieces, it will be tough for Brissett to keep up with Watson and Houston’s offense, which will be especially motivated after getting shut down by the Ravens last week.

PICK 2: Under 45.5 Points

In a 30-23 win over the Texans in Week 7, Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett threw for 326 yards and four TDs.

No Mack and potentially no Hilton puts a hurt on what the Colts will want to do. The Texans were held to 23 points against the Colts’ defense and managed just seven points last week. The Under has hit in five of the last seven meetings and in seven of the last eight Texans home games.

PICK 3: Highest-Scoring Half – Second

The Texans and Colts have broken out of early offensive issues in the second half, and that trend has only strengthened lately. The last three weeks, Indianapolis has averaged 8.6 ppg in the first half and 14.3 in the second half. Houston’s even more pronounced, with a 6.3/13.6 split. Each team will try to establish the run early on against stout defensive fronts, but the teams should open things up more after the break.

PICK 4: First Half – Under 22.5 Points

The first half has truly been a chore to score for the Colts and Texans. On the season, they’ve combined to score 20.2 ppg. The last three weeks, that’s dwindled to 14.9. Combined, they’re allowing under 20 ppg as well.

Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson was sacked six times against the Ravens last Sunday, so expect the Colts to bring heat Thursday night.

PICK 5: First Scoring Play – IND FG & HOU FG

Two wagers each with high odds. First quarter points have been tough to come by for each team, but they’ve also been tough to get against both defenses. The likelihood of one of them driving down the field and into the end zone right away isn’t high. But gaining yards and putting up three on the board? I like those odds.
