Marco Verratti’s presence in midfield certainly aids Italy but the team might struggle to handle the emphatic power of Belgium or France. The semis is about as far as the Italians will progress, which for a team with low expectation levels entering the tournament is a reasonable feat. Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo is unsurprisingly the new favorite to win the Euro 2020 Golden Boot after he scored five goals scored in the group stage. Ronaldo scored twice each against France and Hungary and found the net in Portugal’s 4-2 defeat to Germany.

Soccer fans in the United States can watch Euro 2020 live on TV and online via ESPN and ABC. The knockout stage begins Saturday. Six round-of-16 games will be shown on ESPN and two on ABC.
