NASCAR Pocono Organics 325 Odds and 7 Best Bets to Back

Pocono Raceway has always been a unique place, with its three corners all modeled after turns from other tracks, its grandstand towers copied from Churchill Downs and its overall funky, throwback vibe. For drivers and bettors alike, this weekend brings another unique twist — the first weekend doubleheader in the modern history of NASCAR’s top series.

That means two Cup series races, beginning with Saturday’s 325-miler. Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick are the co-favorites in NASCAR betting for Saturday, both at +500 on a superfast layout that can severely test engine durability. Expect an elite driver in Victory Lane — Chris Buescher in a rain-shortened 2016 event and a young Ryan Blaney, driving for Wood Brothers in 2017, remain the lone surprise winners in recent years at Pocono.

Denny Hamlin to Win

Hamlin has more victories at Pocono than any other active driver (five), has more victories this season than anyone else (three) and he’s the most recent winner at the 2.5-mile triangular layout. But he’s not the odds favorite, and bettors should take advantage given the favorable number he offers. Though just one of Hamlin’s Pocono victories has come in the last nine seasons, his excellent performance this year portends good things on one of his best tracks. Bet on Hamlin at +750 with DraftKings .

Kyle Busch Top 3

Taking co-favorite Busch allows bettors to hedge by wagering on a driver with more favorable odds to win. Like Hamlin, his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Busch’s track record at Pocono is rock-solid — three wins, all since 2017, and no finishes worse than ninth in his last seven starts. Busch’s results of late have been inconsistent, with three of his last six finishes being 19th or worse, making us a bit hesitant to take him to win. Instead, bet on Busch for a Top-3 finish at +130 with DraftKings .

Ryan Blaney Top 5

We’ve been high on Blaney the last several weeks, with profitable results, and there’s no reason to back off the hottest driver on the circuit. His victory at Talladega was his sixth finish of fourth or better in his last eight races. Blaney is also very good at Pocono, with a victory and four top-10s. Bettors who want to load up on the Penske driver should not only bet on Blaney for a Top 5 at +175 with Unibet , but also consider taking him as top Ford at +450.

Erik Jones Top 5

Had Blaney not thrown an epic block coming to the finish line Monday, it would have been Jones celebrating in Victory Lane. As it was, the result marked the third top-five for the Gibbs driver since NASCAR returned, and he has a great opportunity to score another at one of his best tracks. In six career Pocono starts, Jones has finished worse than eighth just once. He’s been fifth, third, and second in his last three starts. Bet on Jones for a Top-5 at +275 with Unibet .

Toyota Winning Manufacturer

Hard to go in any other direction here, given that Toyotas enter this weekend having won five straight races at Pocono. The three top Gibbs drivers have each been to Victory Lane over that span, with Martin Truex Jr. also winning in 2018. Ford has been the better manufacturer this season, but Pocono fosters winning streaks. Because of the track’s unique nature, once teams hit on something, they go back to it again and again. Bet on Toyota to win at +175 with 888Sport .

Kurt Busch Top Chevrolet

The elder Busch brother has quietly been churning out top 10s, finishing ninth or better in all but two starts since late February. There’s a chance for another at Pocono, where he’s a three-time winner, and his 20 career top 10s tie Jimmie Johnson for most among active drivers. In the Chevy camp, Busch brings more favorable odds, more experience, and a better Pocono record than Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman. Bet on Kurt Busch as the top Chevy at +600 with 888Sport .

Jimmie Johnson Top 10

The speed that Johnson has rediscovered this season will be put to the test at Pocono, which can eat engines alive. The three-time Pocono winner has been on a miserable run lately at the track, finishing inside the top 10 there just once since 2015. Asking for an end to Johnson’s three-year winless streak might be a lot, but the No. 48 car has been fast enough this season to merit some consideration for a top-10 bet at -112 with Unibet on Saturday.
