We are now past the midpoint of the NFL betting season, and the contenders and the pretenders are starting to separate from one another.

This NFL season feels odd as there appears only to be a handful of teams that can truly compete for the league’s ultimate goal. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t find value in Super Bowl odds. Courtesy of 888sport, here are my four favorite bets to win the Super Bowl betting this season.

(Note, these aren’t my top four teams in the NFL currently, but the best four values on the board.)

Top 4 Super Bowl LIII Value Bets

  1. New Orleans Saints | + 500

While the Los Angeles Rams are the current favorite to win the Super Bowl, the New Orleans Saints are my current pick to hoist the Lombardi trophy at the end of the season. If the Saints can clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, it’s hard to envision a scenario in which they don’t reach the Super Bowl.

As talented and deep as the rest of the NFC is, the Saints might be the league’s best team. They are nearly unbeatable at home and Drew Brees is arguably his best football of his career. With the Super Bowl being played in Atlanta, in a dome that New Orleans is familiar with, I would give the Saints a great shot at beating anyone in the Super Bowl.

No team has the pieces on defense to slow down this elite offense. As long as Brees is healthy, it would be a shock if this team didn’t reach the NFC Championship game.

  2. Pittsburgh Steelers | +1000

The Steelers are an easy bet to get behind for a few reasons. First of all, they are likely to run away with their division, securing a home playoff game at the very least. They also have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL and probably the best offensive line in the league. They also are a veteran team led by a Super Bowl winning coach in Mike Tomlin.

In a playoff game, it’s going to be hard for a team to match the Steelers’ offensive firepower. The Steelers are in a championship window and appear to have all the pieces to make a run for that seventh Super Bowl win.

  3. Houston Texans | +2200

If you are looking for a solid value pick in the AFC, I like the Houston Texans at 22-1. At 6-3, the Texans currently have a 1.5 game lead over the Tennessee Titans in the division and have won six straight games.

The Texans have everything you would want from a dark horse Super Bowl contender; they have a young, exciting quarterback, tons of weapons in the passing game and a defense that can get pressure on the quarterback.

If the Texans were to get matched up against the Patriots, Chiefs or Steelers in the divisional or championship round of the playoffs, they would have the firepower on offense to keep up. Grabbing the Texans at +2200 is a good way to fade the Patriots or Chiefs in the AFC.

  4. Chicago Bears | +2800

My favorite “long shot” to win the Super Bowl this season is the Bears at 28-1. Chicago leads the division after nine weeks and looks to have the pieces to make a run in the second half of the season.

Chicago currently has a top-five offense and defense, and has done so without the services of Khalil Mack over the last few weeks. The Bears are probably a year away from being a serious contender, but they are one of the few teams in the NFC that may be able to slow down the passing attacks of the Rams and the Saints.

I like them to win the NFC North and possibly make some noise in the playoffs.
