NFL Survivor Pools have exploded in popularity, and at levels for all kinds of fans, from family pools to those with thousands of dollars in cash prizes on the line.

The simple nature of it is a major draw for NFL betting fans: Survivor Pools entail picking one team to win each week, but never picking the same team twice. It's not how much your team wins by in a Survivor Pool. Simply, it's about picking a winner and moving on - and sometimes saving the biggest favorite for a future week.

Here is my most confident pick to get you through Week 9. We’re perfect so far this season (see below).

NFL Week 9 Survivor Pick: Arizona Cardinals

NFL Week 9 Survivor Pool Pick: Steelers, Titans or Cardinals? 1

The Cardinals (5-2) have been one of the pleasant surprises of the NFL. Led by Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins, Arizona ranks No. 1 in the NFL in yards gained and are No. 2 in rushing. Their opponent here, the Dolphins (4-3), are one of the other top surprises. They’re coming off an impressive 28-17 win over the Los Angeles Rams in rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa’s debut as a starter.

However, the Dolphins were outgained 471-145 in that game. Tua managed just 93 yards through the air. They won because Jared Goff had four turnovers and Miami scored 21 second-quarter points on just a single yard of offense.

Arizona has won three straight, scoring 30-plus in each. Miami has played two offenses with scoring pop (Seattle and Buffalo) and allowed 31 in each effort. The Cardinals defense isn’t world-beating, but Miami will likely be without its two top RBs, and Tua is a work in progress. Nothing should come easy for the Fins – at least not as easy as last week.

Arizona is in the toughest division in football. There won’t be many good opportunities to use the Cards going forward. At home, versus a Miami team with a banged-up and youthful offense and a defense that ranks outside the top 20 against the run and the pass, is the time.

Other NFL Week 9 Contenders

Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers are going to make quick work of the undermanned and overmatched Cowboys. But we can pick them in any of the next several weeks.

Tennessee Titans: The Titans should be motivated following a poor showing vs. the Bengals last week. Chicago is a tough-to-read team, in terms of when the offense shows up and when it’s a complete dud.
