PGA Tour Northern Trust Odds, Picks & Top Prop Bets to Back

It’s postseason time on the golf betting circuit. The FedEx Cup Playoffs get underway in this week’s Northern Trust at TPC Boston, where Tiger Woods is set to return following a T-37 finish two weeks ago at the PGA Championship.

Bryson DeChambeau is the defending champion at this track, which last hosted the 2018 Dell Technologies Championship. DeChambeau is also a favorite this week at +1100 in the latest Northern Trust odds.

Justin Thomas, who won here in 2017, is next in golf betting odds at +1300. Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm are +1500 while Jason Day and Xander Schauffele are +2000.

Jason Day (-106) over Collin Morikawa

Day generally plays well at TPC Boston. He has finished in the top 25 in eight of 11 career starts and has three top-10 finishes. Day is also riding a big hot streak with four consecutive top-10 finishes, including T-4 at the PGA Championship. Morikawa took home the hardware at Harding Park and turned in an epic Sunday finish. We think Day’s putter will give him the advantage this week at a course that suits him well. Bet on Day to win this matchup at DraftKings.

Sungjae Im (-112) over Matt Kuchar

Im turned on the gas last week to break out of a recent slump. He shot 66 or lower in each of the final three rounds for a T-9 finish at the Wyndham Championship and looked like the player who was so consistently good week-to-week last season. Kuchar hasn’t done much since the restart and missed the cut at the PGA Championship. He also has struggled at this course recently, finishing outside the top 40 in each of his last three starts at TPC Boston. Take Im head-to-head at Unibet.

Patrick Cantlay (-118) over Daniel Berger

Cantlay has a decent track record in Boston with a T-13 in 2017 and T-24 in 2018. It’s tough betting against Berger with how good he has been lately, most recently a T-13 at the PGA Championship. But Berger hasn’t been very good over four career starts in Boston. We like Cantlay in matchups for his consistency, with a Tour-best 19 consecutive cuts made. There’s no cut this week, but we expect Cantlay to pick it up at the Northern Trust. Wager on Cantlay over Berger at PointsBet.

Dustin Johnson (-105) over Xander Schauffele

Johnson got lapped by Morikawa down the stretch at the PGA Championship, but so did everyone else in the field. Johnson still finished T-2 and has carded eight consecutive sub-70 rounds on Tour. He certainly looks to be healthy and swinging well again. Schauffele has struggled at this course in two prior starts, with a T-49 in 2018 and a T-53 in 2017. We like Johnson in this matchup bet; if you do too, act on it at FanDuel.

Winner to Birdie 72nd Hole (+100)

The par-5 18th played just 530 yards in 2018 and ranked as the easiest hole on the course in all four rounds. It’s also one of the easiest par-5s on Tour, resulting in a 4.616 scoring average in 2018. DeChambeau and Thomas each made par there en route to victory, but they had big leads entering the final hole. Count on a birdie from the winner here if the leaderboard looks a little more crowded coming down the stretch on Sunday. Bet on a birdie to end it with DraftKings.
