Real American sports to bet on are back, baby! The UFC returned with three MMA cards this week, NASCAR races this weekend and now golf is easing into it. On Sunday, the TaylorMade Driving Relief 2020 charity skins game will be held at Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Florida.

World No. 1 Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson take on Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff, the 2019 NCAA individual championship winner and PGA Tour rookie, at the highly exclusive club.

This is a warm-up to the May 24 charity event featuring Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning vs. Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady at Medalist Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida. But Sunday’s match at Seminole has tons of star power and — of course — opportunities to bet. NBC will have the live broadcast from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., giving most viewers their first glimpse at this storied track.

Here’s a look at five best golf bets for Sunday’s TaylorMade Driving Relief skins game.

McIlroy/Johnson To Win (-186)

This is a second-shot golf course by all accounts. Ben Hogan reportedly practiced at Seminole every spring to prepare for the Masters at Augusta National, where strong iron play is equally essential. None of the four players have much experience here and McIlroy and Johnson were much better in Strokes Gained Approach than Fowler and Wolff in 2019.

Fowler and Wolff should have the better team chemistry having both played college golf at Oklahoma State. McIlroy and Johnson are usually competing against one another every other year at the Ryder Cup. But this is a skins game, not alternate shot, and we expect McIlroy and Johnson’s prowess off the tee and irons advantage to make the big difference at Seminole.

Any Player To Hit Into A Bunker At Hole No. 1 — No (-225)

Seminole Golf Club has only been shown on television once, for a 1995 Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf match between Greg Norman and Nick Price. So this hole-by-hole description with head pro Bob Ford is an extremely useful betting resource. We’ve also consulted Google Earth on several individual-hole prop bets.

This is a 405-yard par-4 that typically features a helping wind. All four players will likely pull driver and could come close to driving the green, leaving no more than a mid-range chip shot. That takes the greenside bunkers out of play. There is one troublesome-looking bunker left of the fairway, but we don’t expect it to see action from any of the four players. Bet No at 888sport .

Longest Drive On Hole No. 3 — Dustin Johnson (+225)

McIlroy is the favorite here at +175, but we like Johnson’s chances. Google Earth shows a significant left-to-right dogleg on this 555-yard par-5. That sets up perfectly for Johnson’s standard fade off the tee. He also tends to get pretty aggressive on his lines and will look to cut off a big chunk here.

Johnson had offseason knee surgery but looked strong in a brief return this spring, averaging 308 yards off the tee before coronavirus shut everything down. Bet Dustin Johnson at 888sport .

Any Player To Hit Into A Bunker At Hole No. 5 — Yes (-120)

The par-3 fifth hole will play at 205 yards off the tee with a left-to-right wind expected Sunday. Six bunkers surround the elevated green and could certainly see some action. These guys will probably hit 6 or 7-iron off the tee, but the wind and elevation nuances will be especially tricky since they haven’t played this course much. Bet Yes at 888sport .

Any Player To Hit Into A Water Hazard At No. 11 — No (-455)

No. 11 will play as a 465-yard par-4, but it’s only 240 yards to carry the water hazard. It does continue up a ways on the right side of the fairway but doesn’t appear to be in the danger zone for any of these guys. Obviously the odds are very steep and reflect that, but it looks like it would take a huge miss off the tee to get wet at No. 11. Bet No at 888sport .
