Gary Rowett is now 1/2 to leave Birmingham City and take charge of Fulham, with Steve Clarke passing up the chance to switch clubs
Fulham continue to search for a new manager after a string of underwhelming appointments have left them as a mid-table Championship club.
It had appeared that Steve Clarke was going to leave the Madejski Stadium for Craven Cottage, although the former West Brom manager decided to stick with Reading and it now appears that the number one target is Gary Rowett.
Rowett has performed minor miracles during his short managerial career. Having steered Burton Albion into promotion contention last season, he was then selected as Lee Clark’s replacement at St Andrews and Birmingham have thrived ever since.
The Blues continue to punch above their weight in the Championship although Fulham can potentially pay Rowett more for his services as they look to get into top six contention this season.
Every bookmaker now go odds-on that Gary Rowett becomes next manager of Fulham, with Ladbrokes offering 1/2 that this happens. However, the odds can change quickly for this sort of market.
Nigel Pearson appears to be in no rush to return to management despite laying the foundations for Leicester City’s success this season.
The former Foxes boss is 7/1 for the Fulham gig but might be holding out for a Premier League role and it appears that Swansea could be looking for a new manager in the next few weeks.
Alan Curbishley is 9/1 to take the Cottagers role on a permanent basis, although whether the former Charlton boss is going to be appointed is open to question, while Paul Tisdale is a 20/1 shot.
