Kane strong favourite with the bookies to land another prize after top scoring at the 2018 World Cup
Harry Kane enjoyed a successful World Cup in front of goal, with the England captain bagging six goals in the tournament.
While his portfolio of goals might not have been visually impressive, it continues to cement his reputation as one of the world’s leading strikers, with the Tottenham forward installed as favourite to be top scorer in the Premier League next season.
The bookies have Kane as 2/1 favourite to score the most goals in the top flight, something that he’s managed to do in two of the past three seasons, with Mohamed Salah pipping him last term.
Kane’s scoring ratio is incredibly high, with the forward having bagged 21, 25, 29 and 30 goals in the past four seasons and it will take a decent effort from anyone else to overhaul him.
Salah was a huge price to win the Premier League prize last season although the Liverpool man is 6/1 this time around, with his card heavily marked after scoring 32 goals last term.
It’s worth noting that the top two scorers finished several goals clear of the chasing pack, with Sergio Aguero managing 21 goals and it was a decent return considering he wasn’t always in the team.
Aguero is an 8/1 chance to top score in the top flight next term and is capable of monster hauls for a high-scoring Manchester City team.
Romelu Lukaku is slightly shorter at 6/1 and will hope to build on his excellent World Cup with Belgium where he managed to score four times.
Gabriel Jesus is a 12/1 poke, with Leroy Sane catching the eye at 40/1 and perhaps the German will be nice and fresh after being left out of his country’s World Cup squad.
