Hull v Fulham tips – Cairney a crazy price to come back and haunt Tigers

Cairney

Attacking midfielder flourished at Blackburn Rovers after Hull let him go, so SkyBet's brilliant anytime odds for Cairney must be considered

Former Hull City midfielder Tom Cairney opened his account in style for new club Fulham just in time for a return to Humberside.

He is a top-price 11/2 with SkyBet to net again in the anytime market, and 18/1 with bet365 to break the deadlock.

The 24-year-old former Scotland Under-21 international has started the season sharply for the Cottagers. Surprise early Championship leaders Brighton and Hove Albion time and again struggled to contain him, as he dictated play and embodied the role of midfield marauder last time out.

It is this kind of enthusiasm that will be key to Cairney coming back to haunt one of his former clubs, and Fulham have a point to prove, after the Tigers hammered the west London outfit 6-0 the last time both clubs met back in 2013.

Hull goalkeeper Alan McGregor may still be reeling from the mistake he made when conceding an equaliser to Wolves last time out, so Fulham have the personnel (including Cairney himself) to take full advantage.

However, head-to-head, the Tigers have won their last three matches against Kit Symons’ side, racking up 10 goals in the process and, with Chuba Akpom making a great start to life while on loan at Hull, he is well-priced in the anytime market, offered at 15/8 with SkyBet.

One thing that definitely seems guaranteed though, is that there could be goals from both sides. Each team have fearsome frontlines; Fulham equipped with record signing Ross McCormack and his fellow former Leeds United striker Matt Smith, 9/4 and 12/5 respectively to score anytime with Ladbrokes.

At the other end, proven Premier League quality Nikica Jelavic represents a credible threat, having scored three against Fulham while playing for Everton, two coming in one game, including a penalty.

The Croatian forward is 17/10 in the anytime market with Coral, 5/1 to break the deadlock with Ladbrokes and 7/1 with William Hill to net two or more and 66/1 with SkyBet to go one better and hit a hat-trick.

Clever Cairney, with a point to prove to his one-time employers, should be where smart anytime scorer money is laid down.
