Is Jose Mourinho heading for the Manchester United sack?

Mourinho cutting a disgruntled figure at Old Trafford ahead of the 2018/19 season

A week ago, Jose Mourinho was trading at 20/1 to be the next Premier League manager to leave their respective club, although the Manchester United boss has taken a tumble in the market.

Mourinho is notoriously grumpy although it appears that things aren’t good at Old Trafford right now, with the United manager already making excuses as to why his team are at a disadvantage for the new season.

William Hill go as short as 5/1 about Mourinho for their Sack Race market, with Ladbrokes offering a bigger 7/1 and it wouldn’t be a great surprise if the Portuguese stepped down from his post.

Mourinho knows how to keep his reputation as a top drawer football manager intact, with the United boss potentially about to storm out considering that funds aren’t being spent on reinforcements right now.

United are still waiting for key players like Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard to return to the squad, with Alexis Sanchez hoping to shine in his first full season with the club.

Claude Puel and Javi Gracia are other managers trading at single figure prices in the sack race market, although all eyes will be on Mourinho, with United lining up against Leicester in their opening match of the campaign.

All odds were correct at time of posting.
