Jamie Vardy leapfrogs Sergio Aguero in Golden Boot betting

Jamie Vardy now 2/1 with bet365 to win Premier League Golden Boot after scoring at St James’ Park

As the striker himself said on Saturday evening, Jamie Vardy has to pinch himself to believe that he has scored in the past ten Premier League matches for Leicester City.

Vardy scored just five times for the Foxes last season although he has been all guns blazing for a team who lead the way right now and bet365 have reacted to his amazing scoring feat by making him favourite to be leading scorer at the end of the season.

The forward has thirteen Premier League goals thus far, putting him four clear of his nearest rivals and bet365 go 2/1 that Vardy remains top of the tree, with Leicester’s next game against Manchester United.

This fixture last season was highly memorable as the Foxes came from 3-1 down and won 5-3, with Vardy getting on the scoresheet on that particular day. This time around, he will be confident of breaking through a tight United defence and helping his team to continue their fabulous run.

Bet365 expect Sergio Aguero to run Vardy close, with the Manchester City striker back on the scoresheet against Liverpool and he’s 5/2 to claim the Golden Boot for the second season running.

However, the Argentine is clearly more injury-prone than the average player and Manchester City’s involvement in the Champions League this term could see him rested for several top flight games.

Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku were the big market movers at the weekend after each striker bagged a brace against West Ham and Aston Villa respectively.

Kane is on eight for the season and can be backed at 7/1, while Lukaku is a 9/1 chance and the Belgian is a goal better off.

Alexis Sanchez did look like a serious contender a few games ago although the Chilean has momentarily hit the buffers and is out to 14/1.

All odds were correct at time of posting.
