James Corden among favourites to play Jamie Vardy in movie, although Zac Efron the 3/1 favourite
Jamie Vardy was among those Leicester City players that won the 2015/16 Premier League title last season, although the striker differs from his team-mates in the sense that his story is far more romantic.
Vardy spent several years playing non-league football for Stocksbridge Park Steels, Halifax and Fleetwood before joining Leicester, with the forward’s story triggering a movie to be made depicting his life thus far.
The striker is excited about the prospect of his life being depicted on the silver screen and would like James Corden to play the role of Jamie Vardy in the movie, although the bookies aren’t sure that he’ll get his wish.
Ladbrokes make Corden a 10/1 chance to get the role, with the script having nearly been written according to the Leicester forward and it will then be a case of a director being appointed before a cast is decided upon.
Ladbrokes go 3/1 that Zac Efron plays Vardy, with Andrew Garfield on offer at 10/1 and Robert Pattinson is the same price to get the lead role.
Ben Whishaw is a 10/1 chance, with the Leicester player himself available at 16/1 to be cast as the leading man in the movie.
Danny Dyer is a 50/1 shot with Ladbrokes and would certainly fit the bill for roughness and ruggedness, although there are likely to be lots of contenders.
Vardy has a chequered past which involved him wearing a security tag on his ankle for a short spell, with the forward regularly having to dash home after a football match to ensure his curfew wasn’t broken.
The player is currently on England duty, having scored for the Three Lions against Wales at Euro 2016 although he was ultimately part of a team that failed once again to live up to expectations.
