Mourinho massive favourite to be axed by Chelsea after another sorry performance and result on Saturday
Jose Mourinho will surely fail to work his way out of a corner this time, with the Chelsea FC manager seemingly at war with the FA and the media, while some report that the same applies with his players.
The Saturday lunchtime clash against Liverpool saw the Blues take the lead before their opponents scored three unanswered goals to win the match 3-1, with Mourinho seemingly upset that Lucas Leiva was allowed to stay on the pitch.
The bookies have reacted by making the Chelsea manager a best price 4/11 (Paddy Power) to win the latest instalment of the Sack Race ahead of managers such as Steve McClaren, Garry Monk and Alex Neil.
It would appear that Mourinho is the only man remotely close to being out of a job at the moment, with McClaren’s position thought to be secure considering that Mike Ashley actually invited him to become a board member when arriving as head coach.
As for Monk, the rumours about him leaving seem to have died a death, with Alex Neil having actually done enormously well at Carrow Road and Norwich won’t want to lose the Scot’s services simply because the team have had a few bad results.
Mourinho was reluctant to speak to the media after the Liverpool defeat and gave a bizarre interview to BT Sport immediately after the game where he repeatedly said he had “nothing to say”.
Presumably Roman Abramovich was quite the opposite after seeing Chelsea flop to another reverse and the Russian might be working out how to release the manager and bring in a replacement between now and the end of the season.
