Emphatic wins over Stoke and Derby mean that Leeds are now outright favourites to win Sky Bet Championship
Leeds United supporters have been suffering for many years although there are clear signs for optimism after a flying start to the 2018/19 season.
An opening day 3-1 victory over Stoke was followed by an outstanding 4-1 win at Derby on Saturday evening, with Kemar Roofe’s brace helping them to second in the Championship table.
While the season is only two games old, the bookmakers are sitting up and taking notice of the Whites, with bookmaker bet365 going 5/1 about Leeds winning the Championship and subsequent promotion back to the Premier League.
Bookmaker Black Type go 7/2 about a Leeds title win, with Paddy Power going 2/1 that United land promotion and they have certainly made a statement in their opening two matches.
Marcelo Bielsa clearly hasn’t take long to make an impact, while Middlesbrough have been another market mover after a strong start to the campaign. After a 2-2 draw at Millwall, they have recorded successive home wins to sit top of the table.
Boro are 7/1 with Unibet to win the Championship title, with Aston Villa 8/1 and Nottingham Forest 9/1, while Derby County have now drifted to 18/1 following their sobering defeat.
