Liverpool cut to 12/5 for 2018/19 Premier League title

Reds odds slashed after win over Brighton coupled with Manchester City’s 1-1 draw at Wolves

So far, so good for Liverpool and their title chances after a third successive victory of the Premier League season.

The Reds landed a slender 1-0 win against Brighton at Anfield on Saturday, with Jurgen Klopp’s side sitting pretty at the top of the table and the bookmakers are clearly taking them seriously when it comes to challenging for the title.

Paddy Power go as short as 12/5 about a Liverpool title success for the first time since 1990, although other bookmakers are prepared to quote bigger prices such as William Hill who have 11/4 available at the time of writing.

The Merseyside outfit go to Leicester City on Saturday lunchtime which might be the sternest test of their title credentials to date, especially against a Foxes side who have won their previous two encounters.

Manchester City were big odds-on to win at Molineux on Saturday although Pep Guardiola’s side had to come from behind to draw 1-1 against Wolves and their price has been eased slightly on the Premier League outright market.

Paddy Power have 4/6 about a successive title campaign success for the champions of England, with City expecting to return to winning ways this coming weekend when they host a Newcastle side expected to be defensive at the Etihad.

Chelsea have enjoyed a 100% start to the season under new manager Maurizio Sarri and they are now clear third favourites on the outright market.

The Blues are 11/1 with bet365 to enjoy a maiden Premier League title success under their Italian manager, something that happened two seasons ago when Antonio Conte took charge.

Tottenham are an 18/1 poke ahead of their Monday night clash at Old Trafford, with Manchester United a 30/1 poke and Arsenal a humungous 60/1 shot.

All odds were correct at time of posting.
