Liverpool FC 2/1 to sign Carlos Bacca this summer

Liverpool hoping to snare Bacca from Sevilla, with Roberto Firmino also on the Anfield hit list

Can Liverpool FC attract some big-name signings to Anfield this summer? The jury’s out at the moment following last summer’s messy transfer business, although Carlos Bacca appears to be a realistic target.

Bookmaker SkyBet go 2/1 that the Colombian arrives at Liverpool FC before the transfer window slams shut, with Bacca currently on Copa America duty with Colombia.

The forward starred for Sevilla domestically and in the Europa League last season, with Bacca having scored 34 goals in 71 games for the Spanish club although he’s 1/3 to remain with his Spanish club.

Brendan Rodgers would love to snare a quality forward and Bacca appears to be the number one target, with Liverpool simply waiting for Manchester City to increase their offer in order to land Raheem Sterling.

Another player on the radar appears to be Roberto Firmino who is also on Copa America duty and has become a first-team regular for Brazil during the tournament, thanks in part to the suspension of Neymar.

Firmino is currently on the books at Hoffenheim, with the German club facing a struggle to retain the services of the 23-year-old who has managed four goals in nine appearances for the national team.

It appears that Liverpool are in pole position to land the Brazilian this summer, with Sky Bet going 1/3 that the Reds get their man and the attacking midfielder would link up with compatriot Philippe Coutinho who is also on Copa America duty.

Liverpool fans will hope that Bacca can also arrive at Anfield which would be a huge boost to the Reds’ attacking options, with the absence of Luis Suarez being keenly felt last term.

Daniel Sturridge’s injury problems means that Rodgers needs solid attacking options, with Sterling’s probably departure meaning it could be all change at Anfield this summer.

Salomon Rondon is the third name on the hitlist according to reports, with the 25-year-old having scored for fun with Zenit since arriving last season. 20 goals in 36 games represents a very healthy return and the Venezuelan could be available at the right price.
