Manchester City close to reaching EFL Cup final and BetVictor now make them 20/1 for a clean sweep
Bristol City manager Lee Johnson claims it’s only half-time in their EFL Cup semi-final tie against Manchester City, although Sergio Aguero’s late goal at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night appears to have swung things in favour of the Premier League side.
Guardiola was fairly happy with the overall display, saying: “They give everything. The performance was good. Every time we try to make the best performance possible but the performance was good, really good. Manchester City fans around the world must be so proud. It will be tough in Bristol.”
City are now 8/15 to win the EFL Cup after their 2-1 victory against the Robins, with BetVictor odds offering 20/1 that Pep Guardiola’s team win the Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and Champions League this season.
It’s certainly not beyond the realms of possibility that City complete a clean sweep of trophies, having beaten Burnley in the FA Cup on Saturday and they will go to Ashton Gate knowing a draw or better will see them to Wembley in the EFL Cup.
The Premier League title looks tied up, with the Champions League clearly the toughest one of the four to win, although City are currently favourites to win that competition.
Manchester City meet Basel in the last sixteen stage of the Champions League before sterner tests potentially await them, with Bayern Munich, Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid among the sides that they could meet in a later round of the competition.
City are now 9/2 to go unbeaten in the Premier League this season although Sunday’s clash against Liverpool represents arguably their toughest fixture of the campaign to date and comes hard on the heels of this latest EFL Cup match.
