The bookies think Manchester United could be title contenders after a 4-0 win against QPR

All of a sudden, Louis van Gaal might have a squad at Old Trafford which could yet challenge for the Premier League title, with Manchester United’s odds taking a tumble after Sunday’s 4-0 demolition of Queens Park Rangers.

The Red Devils finally have a win to their name after Angel Di Maria played his opponents off the park during a routine thrashing for United, although the bookies feel as though this is a sign of things to come despite the team only collecting two points from their opening three matches.

William Hill go as short as 7/1 that United win the title and the five points on the board doesn’t look too shabby considering that Liverpool are only one better, while Manchester City have already dropped five points this season.

Chelsea have hardened to 8/11 on the outright market after their 4-2 win against Swansea which suggests that Jose Mourinho is deserting his defensive principles following a 6-3 win against Everton.

Certainly while Diego Costa is in the mood, it’s easy to see Chelsea leading the way, with Cesc Fabregas also doing very well since arriving at Stamford Bridge and Mourinho will have been delighted to see the 2-2 draw between Arsenal and City.

City are out to 7/2 with Paddy Power, while Arsenal are a 12/1 chance after an unbeaten start which has seen the Gunners draw three times following a 2-1 win against Crystal Palace.

Liverpool are out to 16/1 following Saturday’s 1-0 reverse against Aston Villa which saw Raheem Sterling rested until the latter stages of the game, with Daniel Sturridge also missing through injury.
