Matt Hummels out to 11/4 to join Manchester United

Hummels has pledged his loyalty to struggling Borussia Dortmund

Could Matt Hummels be joining Manchester United? The jury is open after the German insists that he will be staying put.

Much was expected of Borussia Dortmund at the beginning of the season, however things are far from rosy at the club with a mere 15 points won from a possible 51. The side sit second bottom of the Bundesliga table and there was much speculation that Hummels could be departing from the club before the January transfer window snaps shut.

Hummels was linked with a move to Premier League side Manchester United, however he is debunking such reports and has reaffirmed his intention of staying with the Bundesliga side, despite their precarious position in the German top flight.

“I am not really known as a globetrotter,” he stated. “I have been with two clubs in 26 years and loyalty is very important to me.

“The only thing I am concerned with right now is to play better than in the first half of the season. I was not satisfied at all with myself as one can imagine.

“I have gotten offers from different clubs ever since I have been with Dortmund. That’s not a secret . I have always decided not to leave.”

Since these statements, Sky Bet have gone as low as 1/4 for the player to remain at Borussia for the foreseeable future, a transfer to United now available at 11/4.

Nevertheless, his longer term plans remain wide open and he has hinted that he could be planning a move in the future at some point.

“I have never said that I will stay until 2024 or 2030 or whatever but I have stayed until today.

“I will stick to my way of not promising anything and maybe leave someday, instead of saying I will leave forever and then leave all of a sudden.”
